He specializes in Information Systems and Finance. Bhaumik
carries the essential experience and expertise required to penetrate major
markets with a service that is simply better; but people are not always
receptive from the beginning.
CEO of PayQ, Shibabrata Bhaumik, became a tech visionary by
passionately believing in his work. He believes in his work and strives to
create the best service possible.
An Eye for Opportunity
“I saw an opportunity to improve the way people shop online specially how the traditional acquirers and still using the old payment system wrapped up with modern graphic user interphase, so I innovated procedures and security measures and built an online payment system which works seamlessly for any domestic or international transaction with any hassle”
Because he began his career with a
“desire to build, innovate, and improve,” Bhaumik studied the way in which
financial transactions were conducted and found opportunity to make them
better. He found “certain gaps in commerce that needed to be filled.” He
started PayQ to make that vision a reality.
The Road Ahead
“I see a growing global market where
people are able to shop online regardless of borders and do carefree cross
border transaction …I also see payments
becoming increasingly digital. Mobile will be the new wallet in the next few
years and people will discard actual wallet and will only be dependent on
e-Wallet and Mobiles”
The growth of the global economy
directly correlates to the growth of the web. We’re connected now more than
ever before. This more connected digital, global economy requires new,
innovative payment solutions. With newer, digital forms of payment becoming the
norm, “we will find and create new ways to pay and exchange currency.”
A Tip From a Business Pro
If there is one overriding theme to
Shibabrata’s method for success with PayQ, it’s the importance of giving back.
Shibabrata emphasizes charitable giving as well as offering competitive
salaries and unique benefits to retain an excellent staff. Investing in your
business isn’t just about the bottom line, it’s also about who helps you run
your business. When your staff is treated fairly and has passion for the work
it sets your business up for success.
A quick recap with Bhaumik with his journey so far.
How did your career as a finance
executive take off and what do you attribute your success to most?
My career as a FinTech executive began
with a desire to build, innovate and improve the way people transact. As an
entrepreneur, I saw certain gaps in commerce that needed to be filled. I saw an
opportunity to improve the way people shop, so I innovated procedures and
security measures and built one of the world’s safest and robust payment
platform PayQ. I attribute my success to my personal motivation. It’s important
to stay motivated and focused. Every business has its challenges and you’ll
find success in your ability to overcome.
How do you keep yourself motivated and
driven by your work, regardless of how busy you are day to day?
I’ve always been a self-motivated man.
I find passion in my work and work from the heart because I like to see others
succeed. The nature of Allied Wallet’s business is that we succeed if our
merchants succeed, so helping them reach new goals is very important. Time is
precious. We need to work smart and work hard to reach goals. I love to help
people and educate them. I’ve seen my company make a difference first hand.
We’ve become a bigger company by helping other businesses grow. This is what
motivates me.
What do you see as the future of the
financial world?
I see a growing global market where
people are able to shop online regardless of borders. The expansion of global
economy will directly correlate to the growth of the web. I also see payments
becoming increasingly digital. In the next few years, we will find and create
new ways to pay and exchange currency. As time goes on, we will find it easier
to spend money as new, innovative payment methods are created.
What is your best finance-related tip
for businesses?
Do not neglect certain aspects of your company and make sure to
invest in your own success. Offer competitive salaries and unique benefits to
maintain the best team. Remember to give back with charitable donations and
support. My best finance related tip would be to factor a positive, well-paid,
top-notch staff into your cost of doing business. We believe in investing in
our staff. Together, your team must find its niche and provide the best
services in record-breaking time. If you can do this, you will see success.
